This scheme has been made for the farmers. Now you must be thinking what kind of scheme is the Kusum Yojana (PM Kusum Yojana) We want to tell you that under the scheme, farmers who use pump for irrigation are pumped. Now solar energy pumps will be made. Keep in mind that the Kusum scheme is not limited to solar energy agricultural pumps only. There are 3 components of this scheme,

Kusum Yojana Component A
Kusum Yojana Component B
Kusum Yojana Component C

The works of these three components are explained further in the article
Farmer Energy Security and Upliftment Campaign (Kusum). According to the plan, by 2022, three crore pumps in the country will be run with solar energy instead of electricity or diesel.
Come, know the information of every component of Kusum Yojana
Component A - Under this component, renewable power based power plants (REPPs) with capacity of 500 MW to 2 MW are set aside for individual farmers / farmers / cooperatives / panchayats / farmer producer organizations (FPOs) / water user associations. (WWA) to be set at barren /. fallow land. These power plants can also be installed on cultivable land on stilts where crops can also be grown under solar panels. To avoid the high cost of sub-transmission lines and to reduce transmission losses, a renewable energy power project will be set up within a radius of five km of the sub-stations. The electricity purchased by local discoms will be purchased at pre-determined tariffs.
Component B - Under this component, individual farmers will be supported to install standalone solar agricultural pumps of capacity up to 7.5 HP for replacement of existing diesel agricultural pumps / irrigation systems in off-grid areas where Grid supply is not available. Pumps of more than 7.5 HP capacity may also be installed, however, financial support will be limited to 7.5 HP capacity.
Component C - Under this component, individual farmers with grid connected agricultural pumps will be supported with solarise pumps. The farmer will be able to use the solar energy generated to meet irrigation needs and the additional solar power will be sold to DISCOM at a predetermined tariff.
Component A: Procurement Based Incentive (PBI) @ 40 paise / kWh or Rs. 6.60 lakhs / MW / year, whichever is less, will be provided to MNRE to DISCOMs for the first five years to purchase power from farmers / developers.
Component B&C: CFA of 30% of benchmark cost or tender cost, whichever is lower. State government subsidy 30%; 40% balance by the farmer. In North Eastern states, Sikkim, J&K, Himachal, Uttarakhand, Lakshadweep and A&N Islands, CFA of 50%, State Government subsidy 30%, 20% balance by farmer.

In the first phase of this scheme, 17.5 lakh irrigation pumps running with diesel will be run with solar energy.
This scheme will give double benefit to the farmers.
In addition to getting electricity for free irrigation, farmers will make additional electricity and send it to the grid, then farmers will also get the cost.
This scheme will generate 28 thousand MW additional power.
A target has been set to convert 17.5 lakh diesel pumps and 3 crore farming pumps into solar pumps in the coming 10 years. Kusum is a long-term ambitious scheme, with an initial budget allocation of Rs 50,000 crore for the promotion of solar pumps and solar products.

KUSUM YOJANA 2020
Under the Kusum Yojana, among other things, farmers will be provided additional income, under which farmers will be given the option to sell additional power grid after setting up solar power project on their wastelands.
